About Jaya:
Jaya Balani was the very first and only female criminal defense partner with NeJame Law. Born and raised in Orlando, she went to Bishop Moore, UCF and graduated with her law degree from Florida A & M University right here in Orlando. During her last two years in law school she interned under the NeJame Law criminal defense team and their assistants. Jaya learned what happens inside the law firm for clients, as well as, in the courtroom. After graduating law school in 2008, Jaya hit the ground running by working on several, very high profile cases with her Senior Partner, Mark NeJame, such as the Casey Anthony case. She worked hard to get her name out there and made partner with NeJame Law within 3 years of practicing.
What makes Jaya the attorney you want to hire? Jaya’s family owned a local business and she worked along side her parents since she was very young, until she was old enough to help her parents run it. In college, she helped her brother run his cell phone store while going to school and volunteering to raise money for our local blind community. Jaya has a very strong business sense along with integrity, compassion and motivation you will have a hard time finding anywhere else. Jaya has always dedicated her time to make sure her client’s know they are her priority. Sometimes there are cases where you need that extra female compassion and that is exactly what you will find with her.
Over her career she has handled cases from DUI’s to DUI manslaughters, batteries to attempted murders, driving with license suspended to vehicular homicide, possession of controlled substances to federal charges of trafficking. She is admitted to the Middle District of Florida Federal courts and has appeared all over the country Pro Hac Vice for her clients from Las Vegas to Brooklyn, and New York. Jaya has made it a point to leave a lasting impression with the Judges and Prosecutors she meets which has given her an advantage when it comes to representing her clients. Don’t let her smile fool you, she will vigorously represent your interest.
